Omar has been our insurance Rep for a few years now. He goes above and beyond to make sure we are ok with the business. He's very polite and well mannered besides being very professional! If there is anything we need he will go out of his way to make sure everything is ok!! i highly recommend doing business with Vanguard, rather it be life, vehicle, business.
Vanguard is now no different than Fidelity or Schwab. However, I wouldn’t have my money with Schwab simply because it’s a publicly-traded company on the U.S. stock exchange. Stock exchange companies make too many decisions that directly charge higher expenses so they can aggregately push up the Company’s stock price.
Regarding tax deferred annuities, due to the much higher expenses and hefty surrender charges, the ONLY investors who should be using annuities are those that have a high Fed tax rate and live in high State income tax states (California, etc.).

I am also finding that it is almost impossible to know what amounts and types of fees are being charged both by Vanguard and Transamerica.
Upon my review, I will note that on the Vanguard Annuity and likely most other annuities that there are no provisions to make eligible QCD's.
In other words, no withdrawals can be made directly to charities as a Qualified Charitable Deduction (QCD). You can apparently only do this with an IRA even though the Variable Annuity was funded with IRA money and withdrawals will be noted on Form 1099-R Box 7 as an IRA.
Payments will only be paid to the taxpayer and taxable to him or her.
This begs the question of who or how do banks, insurance companies, investment companies and the financial industry watch to make sure investor's interests are changed in conjunction with ever changin...Read More
