Help find credit cards with my picture and signatures with police department
Total waste of time trying to get Identity Guard to research and fix errors on my credit report. I have paid for this service for years and actually believed their promise to investigate false creditor claims on my credit report. Sadly, I wasted so much time trying to get Identity Guard to live up to its promise to deal - going through many lengthy confirmation steps then being told someone would call only to learn that Identity Guard would not even give me contact info for the creditor who falsely listed I owed them money. Such a disappointment. Wound up doing everything myself.
I have been a member of identity guard since 2005, no issues until I wanted to upgrade my plan to total protection, I have to pay $19.99, not $17.99, as listed here. In order to get the lower price, you have to cancel your current membership and sign up again, indentity guard has different prices or different affiliates, I have found the total protection plan as low as $16.99, shop wisely. Once your a member, you cannot get a lower price unless you cancel your current membership and rejoin, keep this in mind, they make it as difficult as possible to lower your price and are happy to cancel your current membership. Many other options today with better pricing, shop wisely. I canceled my ac...Read More
I too went through nextadvisor and read reviews, finally choosing Identity Guard. I am a recent victim of identity theft, and have a freeze on my credit now. I selected the couples plan, and I set up my husband's info. first (thinking he needed some protection before me), and waited for the email link to add my name. Never got the link. Soon 30 day free trial ended, and our credit card was charged. I called to ask how to add my name to the couples plan. Total scam. They told me I clicked on the wrong link, and I would have to start all over and select the couples plan. I am not stupid. I know very well which plan I selected. Representative offered no help whatsoever. She kept on saying...Read More
I have been paying on this for years. I recently went with my daughter to purchase a car and used my credit to cosign. Took them over 24 hours to send me an email saying my credit was being checked and then they did not tell me who it was or where. We had already walked off the lot with a car and got NOTHING from them. A free service my daughter has texted her within minutes of the report being run. I was livid and they told me that they only send an email once it hits the credit bureau! I want to know immediately, not 2 days later, after someone has used my credit! Think Twice!
I chose Identity Guard after researching many services. I get account alerts rapidly and getting a three bureau credit report monthly is great. The price is right and I feel comfortable knowing that if my ID gets compromised I have fraud assistance to help.
HOWEVER: Their iPhone app is way out of date to the point that I get an alert that it will slow down my phone and needs updating. The last update was in October 2014! The app has minimal features so it's almost useless. As a Mac user it's very frustrating that all of their computer protection is Windows only. I'm paying for their Platinum service which is the "best" so I expect to be able to utilize everything I'm paying for.

With so much advertising for one identity theft product I decided to do my own research. That is when I discovered Identity Guard. I am very pleased with the service.
I am very happy to get notifications promptly however, I'm not able to give 5 stars because my credit score does not update as regularly as other services and shows as significantly lower and there does show an account in collections still which has been closed and resolved for sometime now. So I feel that some report are outdated.
Fortunately, I haven't had to use them to prevent any fraudulent credit activity. But, they always notify (almost) immediately whenever there is a change to my credit or personal information.
I do feel secure with them, but again it's almost like buying insurance... You don't know what/how it will be used or needed until something bad happens.
Finally, I LOVE the customer service. Every time I call, the people that answer are friendly and actually seem to like their jobs. You can almost hear the smile on their face. It is so refreshing to call them and have them answer my (sometimes dumb) questions, with patience, and while treating me like I'm important to them.

I have not had an incident requiring assistance at this point so I am unable to formulate an opinion as to the helpfulness of the service. I have purchased several items I wish ID Guard had at least contacted me about to assure that it was me who made them. The service appears to be reactive rather than proactive.
I am disappointed in a couple things.
1.) My Credit rating has not changed since day one. It is 50 points lower then on American Express web site.
2.) I know I had two attempts to open credit cards falsely and was never notified from you.
Since I open this when a few cards, license and my Social Security number was stolen, I really was hoping for better.
Maybe nothing has happened, but I do not feel very secure.
Thanks,
Win Goddard
I linked to Identity Guard through Next Advisor. The web ad quoted a monthly fee of $22.99 for the couple package. A 30 day free trial was offered along with a 25% discount. After signing up I noticed the fee charged was $22.99 so I called customer service. The rep said the regular cost was supposed to be $27.99 month and the $22.99 reflected a $5.00 per month discount. Then I did some quick math and came up with $20.99 as the regular price less a 25% discount. He couldn't help me and instead referred me to another customer service. I assumed he was customer service "light" so I placed another call. Same results there too. This is a trivial amount of money, but it concerned me that this c...Read More
I read many reviews because I am a victim of identity theft. I chose this company, selected a program and filled out the necessary information, including my social security number. My application was DENIED because Identity Guard and Discover/American Express have a glitch in their connection-which is not my fault. When I called the number for assistance, I was told that my application could not be done over the phone because of the plan I chose. They gave me number for customer service, but the number is for a telemarketing company. After wasting 2 hours reading reviews and attempting to subscribe, I chose a different company. It is frustrating enough to be a victim of identity the...Read More
I just got a call from my bank indicating there was a questionable charge on my account made in Hong Kong. Identity Guard made no mention of this charge. Either Identity Guard is asleep at the wheel or you are not getting that much protection from these people.
I just canceled my subscription.
I had this service for years. I enjoyed the credit scores and updates.
I received an email offer for a family plan. I attempted to sign up but it kept saying I was already a member. There was no links on my members page to upgrade. I called the phone number but there was no answer. So I canceled my account to sign up for the family plan.
There was no confirmation to what plan I signed up for and no place to add my family members. I searched the site and found that it can take over 24 hours for the additional family member option to pop up. But after 24 hours still nothing. I tried to call again but no answer. So I canceled my new account. I called again and got a real person on the ph...Read More
They are no longer taking new customers and they are very sneaky to not let you know that you are being placed in a new anti theft site with significant reduction in security options.
I have had this coverage for over 5 years and have been very happy with the quarterly reports and credit scores from all 3 bureaus. The cost is a bit more than some but less than others like Lifelock and it has more features and better independent ratings.
I just applied for Identity Guard from a review of top 10 identity sites page. Upon clicking on their website they have a 30 day free trial and then 17.99 each month after. So I enter my personal information and card information and a pink screen pops up at the top of their site "Unable to process card information as entered Error Code 151". So I check the error code and recommendation was to change browsers so I left explorer and went to chrome and retried only this attempt was no 30 day introductory and the price was 19.99 per month.
Again I enter my information and enter and again received the same error message. So I contacted my bank and they confirmed one charge from Identity Guar...Read More
